As those of you who have followed me for some time may recall, in addition to having my own children, I’ve also been a surrogate twice. I carried a baby girl named Ella in 2011, and then carried Samantha and Ian in 2013 for a second couple. In being a surrogate, I have of course met and networked with other gestational carriers and intended parents alike. I met Christina through the agency we both used to coordinate our surrogacy journeys. She contacted me towards the end of her pregnancy and asked me if I would photograph her surrogate twins newborn session for her when they were born, and of course I was honored to do so!
Its an honor to be a surrogate, and be able to help couples become a family, and give them the children they are unable to have on their own for whatever reason. The smiles on everyone’s faces in this image is what surrogacy is all about – you can just see all of the love and happiness these little guys have brought to everyone!
Lucas and Oscar arrived a couple weeks ahead of schedule, but thankfully were healthy from the start and went home with their daddies very quickly after their birth. I had the pleasure of meeting their daddies, and doing photographing newborn session with them when they were around 3 weeks old – just a few days before they traveled home to London to start their new lives as a family of four!
How handsome are these little guys??!!
Congratulations on your new family, and enjoy every single minute!
