Cars Cake Smash

When my son was a year old, Cars was on repeat on the TV and Lightning McQueen was on everything else in my house! All of his clothes, all of his walls, his room, his books, his toys – it was CARS everything!! You could say for sure that we were all obsessed!
When Dylan’s mama Kelisha contacted me to schedule his cake smash, she didn’t really have a theme in mind – she just knew she wanted it to be fabulous! Since I have always wanted to do a Cars cake smash for my clients, this was on the top of my list of suggestions.
Imagine how excited I was when she gave me the green light on this theme! I always love designing cake smash sets – but this one was super fun and special for me!

Dylan’s adorable outfit is from Little Miss Atasha – of course with the Lightning McQueen patch added by me!
The amazing backdrop was custom printed by Intuition Backdrops using a stock image I purchased after I wasn’t able to find a backdrop that was even close to what I wanted for this set : which was Radiator Springs!
I knew I wanted to incorporate all of Lightning’s friends into the set – so this street scene was exactly what I was looking for!

As always, our adorable cake was done by Lady Di’s Cake House!

Dylan was so adorable, and he did a great job smashing his cake!
Afterward, he splashed around in our mini clawfoot tub – and got nice and clean to head back home after his cake smash!
