It’s your baby’s first birthday, and it’s time to celebrate with a cake smash and the most adorable portaits! The perfect combination. First, a big congratulations for making it through the first year of sleepless nights! One down, 17 more to go! I’m kidding, I’m kidding. Mostly, anyways. 😉 Hopefully you have a good sleeper who still isn’t keeping you up all night. (I did not.) So, if you show up with your clothes on backwards, I totally won’t judge you. I get it. Plus, it’s fine. The baby is the one in the portraits, anyways right?! You’re going to end up with cake on you, so you can just bring something to change into after the session anyways. 😉

Your baby’s first birthday is absolutely a time to celebrate. It’s a HUGE milestone – they have grown and learned so much in one short year, and are a completely new little person. Who doesn’t deserve some cake for all of that hard work?! Am I right? So, here we are. It’s time to book your baby’s cake smash session. Whether you are looking to book an all-out deluxe, fancy themed bash, or you prefer something more simplistic, you have come to the right place. I will create the set of your dreams – and the best part? You don’t even have to clean up after! If you are unsure of what theme you want to go with, I am always able to suggest some fun ideas – or just surprise you the day of your session.
I am a professional cake smash photographer located in Fayetteville GA. I have well over 10 years of experience specializing in baby photography. When you book your baby’s cake smash session with me, your experience will be fun, exciting and best of all – easy. Every little detail will be taken care of for you. I will walk you through the entire process from booking to planning your session, what to expect the day of your session and ordering your adorable images. Each session is custom styled personally for each client, and no set will be the same twice – so even if it is a theme I’ve done several times (as you can see below!) you can rest assured your baby’s session will still be unique!
So, when should I book?
I strongly recommend that you book your cake smash session a minimum of 4-6 weeks in advance to guarantee my availability, and allow ample time to plan the set and order custom items that may be necessary, such as outfits and cake.
Our booking calendar is always open 6+ months ahead. If you are the last-minute type, definitely still reach out! I’m happy to accommodate last minute bookings when space is available.
The best age range to schedule your baby’s cake smash is around 10.5-11 monthns – often before your baby starts walking, and before the stranger anxiety sets in!
What is included?
Everything! I take care of every detail, all you have to do is bring the baby!
You will choose the theme – and it can be anything you can think of. Popular choices include : something the baby is into and loves (a show, a toy, a place, food), the theme you’ve chosen for your baby’s first birthday party, the baby’s nursery theme, your baby shower theme, etc. Once you choose your theme, I make it come to life. The custom designed set – all of the props, backdrop, balloon garland, decorations, an outfit for the baby to wear during the smash, and a coordinating themed cake are all included. Want to keep it more simple, or without a theme? We can design a more simple, classic cake smash set with just your favorite colors as well! Can’t thinkg of a design idea? All of our smash cakes are custom designed and baked by Diana of Lady Di’s Cake House in Peachtree City.
A little about the sessions!
Every cake smash sessions includes “formal” portraits of your little ones before the cake, “messy” cake smashing portraits, and “splash” portraits in our adorable claw foot tub after.
The best part? Your baby goes home with you as clean as they came! (I can’t guarantee the same for you! Like I said before, you might want to bring a change of clothes too. Seriously.)
What is the cost?
The session fee to cover all of the above is $350 and due at the time of booking to secure your date and begin planning your session.
This does not include any products or digital images – which are purchased separately at your ordering appointment. I offer gorgeous heirloom albums your baby will be excited and proud to show their own children someday, as well as stunning matted print collections, wall art and of course – digital images. Most clients invest around $3500-5000 for these memories, but pricing begins at $995 and everything is offered a la carte – so you only buy what you love!
