Construction Cake Smash | Krews

Krews’ Construction Cake Smash

Krews parents own a restoration/remodeling construction company – so I definitely was not surprised by her request for a construction cake smash for his first birthday celebration!
(If you are in Georgia and in need of these services, I highly recommend checking them out! They are awesome people – and do an amazing job!)

This construction cake smash set was super fun to design!
Mama wanted blues and yellows – I knew I would need to make the blue trucks for sure. The yellow are much easier to find. I purchased some toy trucks and diggers from amazon. I made the rest from some Etsy clip art – along with the number 1!
I made sure all of the trucks I made say  “Krews Construction” to make this set completely personal to Krews!

(If you are a photographer, you can now purchase this design as a backdrop – without Krews name – from my line over at Intuition Backdrops!)
All of my cake toppers are hand made for my cake smash sessions – and this one one was perfect for this set! I love the way it came out.

Diana at Lady Di’s Cake House in Peachtree City completed the look with her adorable blue and yellow cake. It matched the set perfectly!

Formal photos first!

All of our cake smash sessions start with “formal” portraits. This really just means a few cute shots of your babe before we let him loose on a cake to get messy!

Time for cake!

I always say this is the best part! I love how differently babies react when you give them a whole cake to do whatever they want with!
As you can see, Krews just loved it! He enjoyed it – and made a pretty good mess of it!

Bath time!

We conclude every cake smash with a quick splash in our adorable mini clawfoot tub. This serves as double duty. We usually get a couple extra smiles (even from happy babes!). Mama gets to take home a clean, non-sticky baby!
It’s always a good day when you don’t have to wake them up to give them a bath. You can put them right into their crib to sleep off the rest of that sugar!

Let’s celebrate your baby’s first birthday!

If your sweet babe has a first birthday coming up, send us a message! We will chat about your vision for your baby’s cake smash session.
You can come up with any theme you want! If you are stumped, I can give suggestions as well – or completely surprise you! Up to you!

We book cake smashes in advance to allow plenty of time for design, planning and purchasing to create the perfect set! It is recommended to book your cake smash session 4-6 weeks in advance.
The recommended age range for cake smash sessions is 10-11 months. I will give you plenty of tips and suggestions to make your session a smashing success!
